And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Mathew 4:19

Jesus called Peter and Andrew to be his disciples.  They immediately dropped and left everything and followed Him. What did they leave behind? They left their livelihood, their families and friends. They followed Him! As Jesus began to round up his troops, He did not discriminate. He chose all kinds of people, from fisherman to tax collectors, prostitutes and pharisees and later on Paul called the Gentiles. Jesus calls us all to take up our things, our stuff and leave it behind and follow Him. We are called through baptism to unite ourselves within Him and for Him, to spread the Good News to all! To share in the glory of salvation! St. Paul reminds us, "Let there be no fractions; rather be united in mind and judgement." (1Corinthians1:10-17) Can you follow the light of salvation? Can you leave all the baggage of the world behind and follow Him?  "The people of darkness have seen a great light." (Isaiah 9:2) Who is that light? It is Christ! If we follow him will our all, we too illuminate that light. Imagine, If we all radiated the light of Christ, we would eliminate the darkness of the this world and what a world it would be!
