Do not Worry...

Four times in today's Gospel, Jesus tells us not to worry. He begs us to believe that our "heavenly Father Knows" what we need. God's attention to our needs surpasses even the solicitude of a mother toward her baby: Can a mother forget her infant?.. Even should she forget, I will never forget you." We forget that we will never be forgotten. We give in to anxiety. Yet, worrying will not"add a single moment to your life span." What does add length , and depth, and richness to our life is serving our true Master. He "will bring to light what is hidden in the darkness and will manifest the motives of our hearts." And in the knowledge of our darkness and doubt, the Father will "much more provide for you."

No words can be more true! Christ is the beacon of our lives . If we focus on him, he lights our paths at all times. With Christ in our hearts, we  are never in the dark, never alone. What comforting feel ing to know Christ is all we need, He is always with us until the end of time.
As we prepare ourselves for the beautiful season of Lent, let us remember that although  He is with us always we must walk with Him in good works, in alms giving but most of all in living the gospel.

My Dearest Jesus you are the model of Humility.
You have followed the call of your father by giving your life on the cross.
Help us to bear witness to You
By following His example of suffering
And make us worthy to share in His Resurrection.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son.

Amen.
